Job summary

Phelps Health in Missouri is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care using the nursing process across inpatient units. The RN will follow hospital safety policies, administer medications, perform assessments, and educate patients and families to support health outcomes.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, Missouri or compact licensure, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and a willingness to pursue licensure within 90 days if graduating.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• One year experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the State of Missouri or Compact Licensure.
• GN must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking and other physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follows established hospital policy regarding patient safety measures to provide patient care in an optimally safe environment.
• Provides quality nursing care including administration of medications, nursing intervention, and patient and family teaching.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessments in all aspects of patient care to monitor patient status and outcomes.
• Documents all patient care activities and required quality monitoring items.
• Communicates patient information to physicians and appropriate team members to improve patient outcomes.
• Delegates as appropriate while maintaining teamwork and accountability.
• Communicates with patient and family members to enhance the patient experience and provide education.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and pursues continuing education.
