Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join the 4 Oncology unit in Chapel Hill, providing competent care and coordinating patient care using the nursing process under the Nurse Manager/Director. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement in a 36-hour weekly schedule on a 39-bed unit.

The position requires NC RN licensure, BLS, and at least one year of nursing experience. If hired after 2014, a BSN within seven years is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must enroll within four years and obtain a BSN within seven years.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self; attends education programs and uses patient education materials.
• Identifies expected patient outcomes and participates in evaluation with the interdisciplinary team.
• Delivers care for patients with complex needs, organizes and prioritizes care, and consults resources for high-risk cases.
• Promotes professional growth, collaborates interdepartmentally, and supports unit goals and safety.
