Job summary

Maria Parham Health, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for Oncology at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson, NC. Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single state) or compact.
• ASN in Nursing from an accredited program; BSN preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certifications required.
• If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new PSOR before employment begins.

Responsibilities

• Performs critical thinking and decisive judgement with minimal supervision.
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care across diverse patient needs.
• Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
• Prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care with leadership responsibilities.
• Document care and monitor patient condition, communicating with care team.
• Detect changes in status and report to health care team promptly.
• Assist patients with daily living activities (hygiene, nutrition, ambulation).
• Coordinate transfers, discharges and referrals with multidisciplinary teams.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patient and family.
• Process requests for diagnostic work and support services.
• Count narcotics according to policy and procedure.
