Job summary

MercyOne Health System seeks a registered nurse for full-time day shifts in Des Moines. 40 hours weekly, M-F 8a-4:30p; no weekends or holidays. Performs comprehensive nursing care following assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation steps.

Responsibilities include emergency responses, team coordination, and patient education. Requires Iowa RN license, 3+ years acute care, BLS, and mandatory reporter training. Proficient with MOSAIQ/EPIC and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current RN license issued by Iowa.
• Minimum of three years acute care experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the four steps: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Recognize emergencies and initiate therapy within scope of practice.
• Coordinate care with dieticians, Endoscopy, Home Care, Hospice, and other teams.
• Accurately document assessment and results in patient records (MOSAIQ/EPIC).
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
