Job summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program (Texas BON 217.1).
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • 1 year of RN experience.
  • Specialty areas may have increased experience requirements as dictated by unit or standard of care.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and accurately documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments.
  • Actively anticipates patients and/or family needs and develops an appropriate plan of care.
  • Identifies and implements nursing interventions based on assessment and coordinates the plan of care.
  • Prioritizes nursing interventions and reports changes in condition.
  • Evaluates interventions and updates the plan of care as needed.
  • Adheres to hospital policies and ANA standards; supports quality and safety initiatives.
  • Provides education to patients and families and documents education provided.
  • Welcomes and orients patients and families to the unit and communicates daily goals.
  • Advocates for resources to enhance patient safety and unit initiatives.
  • Performs peer evaluations and intervenes when patient safety is at risk.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
