UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Oncology Unit on a part-time schedule. This role involves two 12-hour day shifts from 6:45am to 7:15pm, under supervision of physicians and nursing leadership.

The unit emphasizes patient-centered care, evidence-based practices, and collaborative team-based care. The ideal candidate has a nursing degree from an approved program, active Texas RN license, and at least 1 year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Performs and accurately documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments across age groups.
• Develops an appropriate plan of care with patient and family and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Prioritizes nursing interventions based on assessment and documents actions promptly.
• Educates patients and families and completes discharge planning.
• Adheres to hospital policies and nursing standards and participates in safety and quality initiatives.
