Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse to assess, educate and coordinate care for oncology and hematology patients. The role features administration of chemotherapy, infusion therapies and supportive care in a fast-paced setting within the Hem/Oncology Clinical Nursing department.

The RN will work a 40-hour week, days 9am-5:30pm, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in education, research and quality initiatives while maintaining regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required, diploma/ASN/BSN preferred; BSN within 4 years may be required
• BLS certification required; oncology certification preferred
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and coordinate complex patient care

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert, evidence-based nursing care to patients and families.
• Administer chemotherapy and other treatments per policy and guidelines.
• Perform nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about treatment modalities and side effects.
• Ensure accurate documentation and charge capture for services rendered.
