Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Health System, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical–Surgical Oncology Unit in Raleigh, NC. This role involves planning and delivering professional nursing care to oncology patients and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to support symptom management and treatment goals.

RNs with oncology experience receive didactic and hands-on orientation for chemotherapy/immunotherapy, with completion of the ONS/ONCC course within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) is required.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in a BSN within two years and complete within five years.
• Nurses with a compact license must obtain NC nursing license within 90 days.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and policies.
• Assist in developing and implementing nursing care plans and patient education.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care and patient safety.
• Lead or assist in unit operations and resource management.
• Document assessments, plans, and outcomes accurately in patient records.
