Job summary

Inova Health System's Inova Research Center seeks a dedicated Research Pharmacist Coordinator – Oncology for a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri) in Falls Church, VA. This role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligibility, with opportunities in oncology trials and a supportive, patient-centered environment.

The coordinator facilitates guidelines, collaborates with medical staff, monitors pharmacotherapy, educates staff and patients, and supports pharmacoeconomics efforts.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor degree in Pharmacy.
• Three (3) years' Pharmacist oncology experience or ASHP approved PGY1 residency or three years of Pharmacist research experience.
• Licensed Pharmacist in VA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates development and implementation of treatment guidelines and protocols.
• Identifies and communicates cost-effective medication use issues with medical staff.
• Provides clinical consultation and recommends therapy alternatives.
• Monitors drug therapy for interactions, contraindications and ADRs.
• Performs pharmacist duties and educates patients on pharmacotherapy.
• Trains pharmacists and pharmacy students in pharmacoeconomics and care.
• Prepares and presents drug reviews and intervention summaries to Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
• Participates in community education and contributes to professional advancement.
