Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation seeks an Oncology Data Specialist to identify, abstract, and maintain cancer records in line with ACoS and UM UCH Oncology Registry guidelines. Qualifications

• Certification as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) is mandatory.
• At least one (1) year of prior experience as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) with proven knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, medical records, and medical office procedures is required.
• Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification or Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) eligible required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, abstract, and maintain records for eligible malignancy cases in compliance with ACoS and UM UCH Oncology Registry guidelines.
• Ensure data accuracy and promptly submit information to the National Cancer Database and the Maryland Cancer Registry.
• Manage and update follow-up activities and actively participate in relevant meetings and conferences.
