Job summary

Montage Health seeks a Cancer Registrar Oncology Data Specialist Supervisor to lead the cancer registry, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality data for research, quality improvement, and accreditation. You will guide abstract preparation, follow-up and data submission for state and national databases.

Requires ODS credential and prior registry experience; hospital setting experience and leadership skills are highly valued. This exempt, full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience as a Certified Oncology Data Specialist in a medical setting and experience with Oncology and RCRS is preferred.
• Previous experience as a manager or supervisor in healthcare strongly preferred.
• Associate degree in Cancer Registry Management is highly preferred or in process of completing related coursework.
• Course work must include human anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Cancer Registry staff, setting direction, priorities and productivity.
• Prepare abstracts, follow-up cases and accession entries for oncology patients.
• Submit accurate data to the CA State Cancer Registry and the National Cancer database.
