Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Oncology Services at the Main Hospital campus in Dallas. The role emphasizes patient-centered cancer care, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and education for patients and families.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates. The RN will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring safe chemotherapy administration and adherence to nursing standards.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas or compact license.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certificate required within six months of placement.
• Two years of nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients and protect patient rights and confidentiality.
• Coordinate care with Parkland health care team and manage pain and symptoms.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ensure safe medication administration (6 rights).
• Educate patients and families about cancer care, therapies, and discharge planning.
• Provide direction to non-nursing staff as needed and participate in rotation as Charge Nurse.
• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, policies, and accreditation standards.
• Lead in-service education and participate in oncology staff training.
