Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time, day-shift position in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and administer medications according to orders and hospital protocols.

Responsibilities include patient education, collaboration with medical staff, and thorough documentation. Strong clinical nursing skills, English fluency, and BLS/ RN licensure are required; a BSN is preferred and various certifications

Qualifications

• RN license required; BLS certification required.
• Nursing knowledge and patient care skills.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• EKG knowledge and computer literacy beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments across physical, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and adjust as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per physician orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate care and maintain documentation.
• Maintain timely and accurate medical records of care activities and outcomes.
• Monitor infection control and safety standards to ensure a safe environment.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise care provided by team members and participate in performance improvement.
