Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Littleton, CO seeks a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join our oncology team. The RN will administer chemotherapy, manage patient care, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements.
• Minimum two years nursing experience; oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under physician supervision.
• Maintains knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures; completes chemotherapy charge forms.
• Ensures pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained prior to therapies.
• Manages ambulatory infusion pump use and documentation of pump usage.
• Assists with dose modification by assessing patient, labs, and treatment plan; communicates with physician.
• Performs venipuncture and accesses implanted ports; maintains central lines/tubes.
• Administers medications with correct dosing, route, timing and technique.
• Provides patient and caregiver instruction on pump use and home care.
• Documents nursing assessments, teaching and medication administration in chart.
• Communicates interventions to physician; triages patient calls; documents in chart.
• Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching materials.
