Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Chicago is looking for an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Medical Oncology team. The APP will manage an outpatient panel, following 8–16 patients daily and conducting scheduled toxicity assessments during chemotherapy.

The role emphasizes clinical expertise, collaboration with physicians, patient education, and participation in quality improvement and research. A master’s degree and Illinois licensure as APRN or PA are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited program in nursing (NP) or physician assistant (PA).
• Current license as an RN in Illinois and APRN/PA licensure in Illinois.
• Privileged and credentialed through Northwestern Medicine MSO.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments through history and exam.
• Provide direct clinical care and prescribe therapies; order labs and tests per privileges.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals and refer as needed.
• Educate patients and families; participate in quality improvement and research.

Education

Master’s degree (NP or PA) from an accredited program

Current Illinois RN license or PA license / APRN certification
