Job summary

Piedmont Cancer Institute in Georgia seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Technician to provide pharmacy-related care for hematology and oncology patients. You will perform tasks per PCI policies, verify chemotherapy orders, and prepare IV medications using aseptic technique.

Responsibilities include inventory management, handling hazardous drugs, and collaborating with the healthcare team while maintaining HIPAA compliance and cost-conscious practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy technician license through Georgia Board of Pharmacy.
• Certification with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks in accordance with state and federal law as well as PCI policies, standards of practice, and prescribed workflows.
• Demonstrates proficiency in independent order verification for chemotherapy and immunotherapy orders.
• Using aseptic technique, prepares intravenous medications in an accurate and timely manner.
• Follows protocols for the safe handling of biohazardous materials, sharps, and hazardous drugs.
• Demonstrates mathematical skills required to calculate and prepare dilutions, reconstitutions and compounded products.
• Accurately and efficiently uses the Electronic Inventory Control Cabinet and Software to dispense medications and track waste and inventory.
• Communicates effectively with patients, care partners, members of the healthcare team, and third-party agents or organizations.
