Piedmont Cancer Institute is hiring a Clinical Pharmacy Technician to support hematology and oncology patients with pharmacy services. Responsibilities include aseptic IV medication preparation, chemotherapy order verification, and inventory management.

The role requires GA Pharmacy Technician licensure and PTCB certification, with duties extending to cross-site support and patient communication. Travel to different PCI locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy technician license through Georgia Board of Pharmacy required.
• Certification with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.

Responsabilités

• Provides pharmacy-related care for hematology and oncology patients.
• Performs independent order verification for chemotherapy and immunotherapy orders.
• Prepares intravenous medications using aseptic technique.
• Follows USP 797/800 guidelines for handling hazardous drugs and biohazardous materials.
• Calculates dilutions and prepares reconstitutions and compounded products.
• Uses Electronic Inventory Control Cabinet to dispense medications and track waste.
• Reports inconsistencies in medication orders to supervisors.
• Orders supplies and drugs based on stock levels and practice needs.
• Maintains clean and safe work environment and manages inventory control.
• Ensures confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all duties.
• Travel to other locations as needed and supports cross-site coverage.
• Completes prior authorizations for oral chemotherapy and supportive care meds.
