Job summary

Piedmont Cancer Institute in the Atlanta metro area is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Technician to provide pharmacy-related care for hematology and oncology patients. All duties are performed per PCI policies and workflows, working with clinical and support staff to ensure safe, effective, patient-centered care.

Minimum qualifications include a Georgia Pharmacy Technician license, PTCB certification, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy technician license through Georgia Board of Pharmacy.
• PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks per state and PCI policies and workflows.
• Independent verification of chemotherapy and immunotherapy orders.
• Prepares intravenous medications using aseptic technique.
• Follows protocols for safe handling of biohazardous materials and hazardous drugs.
• Performs calculations for dilutions, reconstitutions, and compounded products.
• Uses Electronic Inventory Control Cabinet and software to dispense medications and track waste.
• Coordinates with clinicians and leadership as needed.
• Travels to other locations as required.
