Qualifications

• IV chemotherapy and biotherapy preparation experience is required.
• 2+ years of experience in a busy hematology/oncology clinic.
• BLS certification is required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology for pharmacy orders and patient documentation.

Responsibilities

• Calculates correct volumes and doses; compounds medications including chemotherapy and biotherapy.
• Oversees inventory control and documentation of medications and supplies.
• Maintains MSDS sheets, checks expiry dates, and stores medications properly.
• Verifies orders for accuracy, authorization, and completeness.
• Packages and labels medications per policy to ensure safe administration.
• Disposes of hazardous drugs per OSHA guidelines.
• Maintains daily records for the clinical pharmacy operations.
• Aids in audits and prior authorizations as needed.
• Supports patient care by responding to emergencies and ensuring access to medications.
