Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from accredited Pharmacy Technician School.
• At least 1 year of oncology experience.
• Ability to perform dose calculations and double-check product selection; aseptic and hazardous drug compounding in USP 797/800 clean room with PPE.
• Strong organization/time management skills.
• Proficient verbal and written communication.
• Excellent customer service.
• Pharmacy Technician (CA DCA) Registration.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City); obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Works under direct supervision of the pharmacist at all times.
• Responsible for drug distribution and intravenous admixture in hospital/infusion center.
• Competent with Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
• Assist in ensuring medications are properly barcoded.
• Support chemotherapy preparation with Texium system.
• Generate revenues by calculating, recording and issuing charges (OR billing).
• Maintain a safe, clean pharmacy per procedures and regulations.
• Document all pharmacy log sheets monthly.
• Complete monthly expiration medication assignments.
• Repackage/unit-dose medications using MILT4 and maintain aseptic technique.
• Use Cerner/PowerChart/Pyxis to triage workflow for efficient delivery.
• Check inventory, restock, and rotate medications and supplies.
• Assist healthcare providers with timely phone calls.
