Job summary

University of Southern California’s Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support oncology medication distribution and preparation under pharmacist supervision. The role includes handling Pyxis dispensing, chemo prep with USP797/800 compliance, billing, and maintaining sterile processes.

You will collaborate with healthcare providers, ensure accurate labeling, and manage inventory while delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Req High school or equivalent.
• Graduation from accredited Pharmacy Technician School.
• At least 1 year of oncology experience.
• Able to perform dose calculations and aseptic techniques in USP797/800 compliant environment.
• CA Pharmacy Technician Registration (CA DCA).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drug distribution and IV admixture under pharmacist supervision.
• Operate Pyxis dispensing system and ensure proper barcoding of medications.
• Support chemotherapy prep with proper aseptic technique.
• Handle charges and billing (OR billing).
• Maintain a safe, clean pharmacy and complete documentation.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking.
