Job summary

Oncology Voice Network LLC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to perform IV compounding and related tasks under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The role involves preparing medications, verifying orders, ensuring insurance approvals, and maintaining strict documentation and logs in a clinical setting.

You will manage dosage calculations, temperature logs, drug lot numbers, and inventory control while adhering to OSHA guidelines and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in a pharmacy with IV skills.
• IV certification preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Board requirement recommended.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Checks all orders for completeness of information and verifies patient information and physician authorization.
• Reviews orders for insurance approval before admixing and adheres to department guidelines and OSHA/interoffice policies.
• Calculates correct dosage volumes and converts between metric and apothecary units; maintains indigent patient drug program as assigned.
• Maintains drug information, MSDS sheets, logs, temperature records, and proper control documentation; handles disposal of materials per policy.
• Performs inventory control, receipts and shelving of medications; assists in ensuring adequate drug supplies and prepares labels and billing.
