Job summary

The Adult Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Penn State Health – Hershey Medical Center delivers advanced pharmacotherapy expertise in hematology and oncology. You will collaborate with hematology/oncology physicians and care teams to optimize chemotherapy regimens and supportive care, guiding drug, dose, route and duration for inpatients and outpatient services.

The role emphasizes optimizing patient outcomes, improving throughput, and promoting outpatient/infusion program utilization

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or eligible to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania.
• An Oncology residency (PGY-2) with BCOP required within 1 year of hire.
• Experience and BCOP certification expected within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical expertise in hematology, oncology, and cellular therapy pharmacotherapy.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and oncology nurses to optimize regimens.
• Recommend drug, dose, route and duration; enhance inpatient and outpatient flow.
• Promote initiatives to increase throughput and outpatient/infusion utilization.

Education

PGY-2 Oncology residency with BCOP

PGY-1 General Practice residency + 3 years relevant experience with BCOP within 1 year

Six years relevant experience with BCOP within 1 year
