- Pharmacy/authorization experience required.
- Healthcare/clinical or business office experience.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Experience with billing systems and EMR software.
Responsibilities
- Run and verify daily OncoEMR reports for drug orders and authorizations.
- Process NYCBS Pharmacy Fill for current date and next week to obtain prior authorizations.
- Prepare appeals for denials on prior authorization requests.
- Refer denied prescriptions to pharmacy financial counselor for review.
- Ensure all approvals meet NYCBS policy before orders are processed.
- Document patient treatment plans and medication details in OncoEMR.
- Notify team if orders should switch to BB or Buy/Bill.
- Handle prior authorization requests from local pharmacies for oral or specialty meds.
