Job summary

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Bronx location. The role involves administering chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, monitoring patient status, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality cancer care.

Ideal candidates hold a New York State RN license with BLS certification, strong assessment and communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred).
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching.
• Knowledge of standard precautions and PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bodily fluids.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physician.
• Recognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration record.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
• Participate in cancer research trials, administering medications per protocol.
• Provide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health and wellness.
• Teach patients and caregivers families regarding treatment expectations.
• Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive medications.
• Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
• Educate patients and caregivers about follow up care and emergency services
