Job summary

Minnesota Oncology is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our clinical team in a fast-paced setting. You will assist with medication orders, perform admixing under supervision, and help ensure accurate patient information and dosing in a compliant environment.

Responsibilities include inventory control, documentation, billing support, and maintaining quality standards in the admix area. Prior IV/chemo experience is valued, with certification preferred or obtainable within the first year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of pharmacy technician or related health care experience preferred.
• Pharmacy calculations and related medical technology knowledge required.
• Pharmacy technician certification preferred or certification within first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing under physician supervision.
• Verify completeness of orders and accuracy of patient information and physician authorization.
• Admix drugs under supervision and prepare all drugs per guidelines and OSHA requirements.
• Count controlled drugs weekly and maintain related records; dispose materials after mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs.
• Maintain temperature logs and ensure proper documentation of medications and protocols.
• Assist with labeling, billing, basic data entry, and ordering of medications and supplies.
• Support cleaning and maintenance of the admix area and pharmacy to maintain sanitation.
