Job summary
The START Center for Cancer Care in San Antonio, TX is seeking a highly skilled PRN Pharmacist to support the oncology Infusion Center and Retail Pharmacy. This role is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with oncology, sterile compounding, or infusion experience who thrives in a collaborative healthcare setting.
Responsibilities include medication order verification, dispensing, and drug information. This PRN position is not benefits eligible and requires a current Texas license with oncology
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Current, active Texas Pharmacist license in good standing.
- 1+ year sterile IV admixture experience or related qualifications as listed.
- Knowledge of non-sterile compounding, immunizations, MTM.
- ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency Program or APPE completion.
- Equivalent experience approved by leadership.
Responsibilities
- Verify medication orders, including dosage calculations and treatment plan accuracy.
- Supervise the preparation and dispensing of chemotherapy and other therapies.
- Oversee pharmacy technicians involved in medication preparation and dispensing.
- Maintain chemotherapy treatment regimens within the EMR system.
- Monitor inventory and assist with utilization tracking.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and USP standards.
- Provide drug information to physicians, nursing staff, and patients.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy documentation and confidentiality.
- Participate in continuing education and maintain licensure.
