Job summary

Carilion Clinic seeks a Patient Care Tech for the Oncology Care Unit (FT) to support nursing staff and assist with daily patient care during the Evening/Night shift. The role includes patient transport, documentation, and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.

The Oncology Unit is a 22-bed blended unit focused on complex cancer patient care. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates meeting guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills; orientation and competency validation.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Document and report patient observations to licensed staff.
• Transport patients, supplies, and equipment within the facility.
• Support department/unit staff scheduling and assist with unit operations.
• Lead admission, transfer, and discharge processes with a patient-centered focus.
