Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to assist in direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will help with ADLs, ensure a safe patient environment, and support relationship-based care for oncology patients in the 11 East Oncology department.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, plus one year of direct care experience or completion of CENA/PCT/MA/EMT coursework. Training is provided; benefits start Day One.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of direct care experience or successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success.
• The PCT assists patients in completing ADLs including bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation and feeding/menus.
• A PCT collects and sends specimens including blood and blood cultures and inserts/removes peripheral IV catheters; records patient information to meet documentation requirements.
• Patients served include adults with hematologic and oncologic illnesses, including solid tumors and terminal illness.
• We offer therapies from chemotherapy to palliative care services.
