AdventHealth in Orlando is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse to support patient care on day shifts. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, establish care plans, and collaborate with the care team to deliver high-quality nursing services.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing with Florida RN licensure (Bachelor’s preferred) and strong clinical skills including EKG. Per diem schedule emphasizes flexibility and commitment to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Degree required: RN with active license in Florida or eligible for licensure.
• Bachelor’s preferred for advancement.
• Strong communication and clinical assessment abilities.
• Ability to perform under shift-based, per diem scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Complete timely assessments across physiological, psychological, developmental and lifestyle factors.
• Make nursing diagnoses and develop care plans.
• Set measurable goals and implement individualized plans of care.
• Prioritize follow-ups and adjust plans as needed.
• Interpret diagnostic data and coordinate with interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure medication safety and infection control standards.
• Promote patient experience through effective communication and hourly rounding.

Job Description

Schedule Options: Monday thru Friday 6:45am - 5:15pm and Saturday 9am-3pm. Department requirement for Per Diem role is 12 shifts every 6 weeks with one Saturday Shift.

Required Training: 4 day weekly 10-hour shifts for approximately 4-8 weeks depending on experience level.

Per Diem Rate: $43.33

• Completes timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect.
• Makes appropriate decisions and conducts interventions based on nursing diagnoses according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs.
• Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care.
• Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed.
• Assesses and interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes.
• Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population.
• Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety.
• Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding. Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources
