Qualifications

• Proficient in inserting and maintaining IVs and venous access
• Able to triage and assess oncology patients and recognize emergencies
• Knowledge of oncology drug side effects and dosing toxicity
• Maintains OCN and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certifications

Responsibilities

• Direct and indirect patient care in oncology settings
• Support professional growth and performance improvement initiatives
• Engage in fiscal responsibilities and cost containment
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and care teams
• Maintain safety and adhere to HIPAA, OSHA and infection control guidelines
• Put the patient first and work within protocol-driven care
• Demonstrate strong assessment skills for cancer patients and nurture psychosocial relationships
• Triage cancer patient calls and coordinate care across services
