Job summary

Mercy offers a nurse tech program where nursing students assist in patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The role emphasizes teamwork and performing both clinical and nonclinical tasks to support wellness and care delivery.

Applicants should be nursing students with a high school diploma/GED, enrolled in an accredited nursing program, and able to provide transcripts showing completion of Fundamentals of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED and enrolled in an approved nursing program.
• BLS required within one month of hire.
• Preferred: EMT, Paramedic or previous patient care experience.
• Preferred: CNA/CPCT/EMT/AUA certification in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under the direction of RN or LPN.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and nonclinical support tasks essential to patient care.
