Job summary

Hartford Healthcare seeks an Oncology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adult oncology patients. Qualifications

  • Currently licensed as RN and APRN or PA-C certification (state-eligible).
  • Board certification in oncology or related field preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Experience in hematology/oncology or inpatient oncology is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform oncology-focused histories and physical exams.
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and imaging.
  • Develop and manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and symptom-management plans under collaborative agreements.
  • Prescribe medications and supportive treatments per scope and protocols.
  • Monitor treatment response, manage toxicities, and adjust care plans.
  • Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment options, and side effects.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other specialists.
  • Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Contribute to survivorship, palliative, and end-of-life care planning.
