Cancer Nursing Today is seeking an Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide expert oncology care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. The role includes assessments, treatment planning, prescribing, and coordinating care across our network.

You will educate patients and families, monitor toxicities, participate in tumor boards, and contribute to quality initiatives with access to strong clinical support and cutting-edge technology.

Qualifications

• Active APRN or PA license in the state of practice.
• National certification as an NP or PA-C.
• Oncology certification (AOCNP or equivalent) preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• DEA registration for prescriptive authority.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive oncology assessments and histories.
• Develop, implement, and adjust evidence-based treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications, chemotherapy adjuncts, and supportive therapies.
• Monitor treatment response and manage side effects.
• Order, interpret, and act on labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and support services.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and symptom management.
• Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Document care thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Precept and mentor staff or learners as appropriate.
