Job summary

Hartford Healthcare seeks an Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver advanced oncology care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department in Connecticut. You will collaborate with oncologists and a multidisciplinary team to manage chemotherapy/immunotherapy, survivorship, and palliative care, while educating patients and families.

Qualifications

  • Active CT NP or PA license or eligibility.
  • Board certification in APRN or PA-C.
  • Oncology certification preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS required; ongoing CME in oncology.
  • Experience with chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive oncology assessments and histories.
  • Order, interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
  • Develop and adjust chemotherapy/immunotherapy plans under collaborative practice.
  • Prescribe medications and manage treatment-related toxicities.
  • Provide symptom management, supportive and palliative care.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses and survivorship care.
  • Coordinate care with oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, nurses and ancillary services.
  • Document care in the EHR per regulatory standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and quality improvements.
  • Support clinical trials and evidence-based protocols when applicable.
