Job summary

University of California- Davis Health is seeking an experienced nurse practitioner to provide independent, advanced-level oncology care for patients and families. The role includes managing chronic and acute conditions, following standardized protocols, and acting as a resource for clinicians in a team-based setting.

You will lead patient and staff education, demonstrate leadership, and maintain accountability for practice in line with Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
• California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License.
• DEA registration within 3 months of hire.
• AHA or Red Cross BLS or UC Davis Health CPR.
• National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area.
• Graduation with a master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of one year oncology clinical experience as an RN or NP.
• Must obtain CITI Certification within 3 months from hire as a condition of employment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Judgment skills to effectively meet challenges in a high-stress team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent advanced level NP clinical expertise to patients and families.
• Manage chronic conditions, routine, acute or critical care following standardized procedures or licensure.
• Serve as expert resource for care teams including nurses and residents.
• Lead patient and staff education and contribute to leadership within the team.
