Job summary

Clearview Cancer Institute is seeking a Nurse Navigator (RN) to coordinate comprehensive care for oncology patients within the RN scope. The role emphasizes education, triage, and collaboration with providers and infusion nurses to support patients from diagnosis to survivorship.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in Nursing with Alabama RN licensure, prefer BSN, and have 3+ years of nursing experience, including oncology.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Alabama RN license required.
• BLS and chemotherapy certification/training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ nursing experience, 1 year in acute care or oncology.
• Knowledge of oncology treatment procedures and supportive care.
• Ability to educate patients and families about diseases and care.
• Ability to perform nursing assessments and triage.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
• Strong communication and emotional stability.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of patient care within RN scope.
• Provide education to patients and families.
• Assist with weekend/holiday on-call and treatments after 1 year.
• Document telephone assessments according to protocol.
• Act as liaison between infusion nursing and providers.
• Make referrals to supportive care services.
• Track MD hospital patient lists for schedule changes.
• Assist in end-of-life care coordination and emotional support.
• Follow protocol for prescription requests.
