Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Navigator to support patients and caregivers throughout the cancer care journey. This role serves as a vital link among patients, families, physicians, and the care team to ensure coordinated, timely, and high-quality care.

Requirements include a BSN with at least three years of related nursing experience; MSN or DNP may substitute for BSN. Oncology experience and active SC nursing licensure with BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• MSN or DNP may be accepted in lieu of BSN.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through the oncology care continuum, especially at diagnosis and initial treatment planning.
• Provide individualized education and support for informed decision-making.
• Identify barriers to care and connect patients with resources.
• Facilitate timely access to consultations, testing, treatment, and supportive services.
• Coordinate communication among physicians, nursing and multidisciplinary providers.
