Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary nurse navigator for rectal cancer patients, coordinating diagnostic assessments and treatment plans.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of patient appointments across specialties, ensuring efficient use of resources and a streamlined patient experience.
• Provide patient education on diagnosis, treatment options, and care plans, acting as a resource for patients and families throughout their care journey.
• Conduct patient outreach and follow-up to ensure continuity of care and address any patient concerns or barriers to treatment.
• Oversee the coordination and facilitation of all tumor boards, ensuring the right multidisciplinary team is assembled for each case.
• Manage meeting logistics, including minute-taking, tracking action items, and ensuring CME reporting compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and other clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate case presentations.
• Lead the program’s efforts to maintain and achieve accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC).

Education

Bachelor's degree in nursing

• E. Experience with common computer programs.
