Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an RN Early Navigation in Medical Oncology to coordinate care before the initial consultation. You will identify eligible MDC candidates, address barriers to care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to streamline pre-appointment processes.

The role emphasizes patient-centered, coordinated care with a focus on improving access and outcomes in oncology navigation and discharge planning within Banner MD Anderson partners.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Oncology Navigation Certification preferred.
• Prior navigation experience preferred.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and address barriers to care in the pre-appointment space and provide resources to patients.
• Collaborate with Social Workers, RN Navigators, and Patient Access Services on complex cases.
• Communicate with patients to answer questions about the initial consultation process.
• Support process improvement activities to improve clinical, financial, operational and satisfaction outcomes.
• Identify candidates for the multi-disciplinary clinics (MDC) and educate patients.
• Serve as a resource to patients and staff about MDC procedures and referrals.
