Job summary

Mercy is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Navigator for Oncology to guide patients and families through the cancer journey. You will coordinate care across the continuum, educate patients on treatment plans, and collaborate with oncologists and the care team to ensure timely, high-quality care.

Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years of nursing experience, an active RN license, and a BLS certification. BSN and specialty certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• 2-3 years of nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and navigate care for oncology patients from diagnosis through survivorship.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, procedures, and side effects.
• Facilitate communication between patients, providers, infusion services, imaging, and support teams.
• Collaborate with physicians and inter-disciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
• Assist with referrals, appointment coordination, treatment scheduling, and transitions of care.
• Monitor patient progress and address barriers to care.
• Provide emotional support and connect patients with community resources and financial assistance.
