Job summary

New England Cancer Specialists in Topsham, ME seeks a part-time Clinic Oncology Nurse Navigator to assist patients and families through the care continuum. You will perform nursing assessments, triage by phone and in-person, and coordinate care with physicians and the care team.

Ideal candidate holds a Maine RN license, BSN preferred (or enrolled within 6 months and completed within 4 years), with 2+ years oncology experience and IV skills.

Qualifications

• RN license in Maine required.
• BSN preferred; enroll in BSN within 6 months and complete within 4 years of hire.
• OCN certification preferred; or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 2+ years nursing experience in Hematology/Oncology/chemo preferred.
• Oncology certifications supported (ONS Chemotherapy & Bio-therapy) preferred or obtainable within 1 year.
• Must have strong IV skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments and triage patient care needs by phone and in person.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, APPs, RN peers, and care coordinators.
• Serve as liaison for referring physicians and caregivers to schedule and coordinate care.
• Support weekends and occasional travel for coverage as needed.
