Job summary

The Cancer Center of South Florida is seeking an Oncology Nurse Educator to lead education across oncology nursing, including orientation, competency validation, and evidence‑based practice initiatives.

You will train RNs and nursing support staff at Palm Beach Gardens and Palm Springs, cover infusion, surgical, radiation, and medical oncology, and collaborate with nursing leadership to improve patient safety and care quality.

Qualifications

• BSN required from an accredited institution.
• Master’s degree in Nursing Education preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education, orientation, onboarding, and continuing education programs for oncology nursing and clinical support staff to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care.
• Assess clinical learning needs, develop and maintain competency standards, and conduct initial and ongoing competency evaluations to ensure staff proficiency in assigned clinical responsibilities.
• Serve as a clinical education resource to nursing and clinical support staff, providing guidance and instruction on oncology nursing practices, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, infusion services, symptom management, and other oncology-specific care requirements.
• Develop, review, and maintain clinical educational materials, competency tools, and training resources to support compliance with organizational policies, professional nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to identify clinical performance gaps and implement targeted educational interventions that support patient safety, quality improvement, and compliance with established standards of care.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, monitor staff competency and orientation progress, maintain required education and competency records, and communicate identified learning needs and performance concerns to nursing leadership.
