Job summary

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is hiring a Regular Full-Time OP Nurse Coordinator I (RN) to support the Erie, PA location. The role involves managing day-to-day nursing activities with the oncology team and coordinating patient care across a large medical oncology practice.

The Professional Nurse Coordinator is a Registered Nurse responsible for holistic patient care, using independent judgment and ongoing communication with patients and families, physicians, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years nursing experience.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in practicing state.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates accountability for professional development and participates in governance.
• Formulates goals and care plans with patient involvement and coordinates with physicians.
• Develops productive working relationships and supports staff through supervision and training.
• Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Establishes and maintains positive relationships with patients, families and care teams.
