Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Registered Nurse Coordinator for Hematology/Oncology at the Lank Cancer Center–Needham, 16 hours per week. You will guide patients through their oncology journey, coordinate pre-treatment activities, and collaborate with BIDMC Boston and BID Needham teams to ensure seamless care.

The role emphasizes education, advocacy, and multidisciplinary collaboration in a patient-centered environment. Prior oncology nursing experience and EMR proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred.
• Current RN license required.
• BLS certification.
• 3–5 years of nursing experience in oncology.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families about chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
• Coordinate pre-treatment, including staging, labs, and venous access.
• Support physicians with telephone triage, prescription renewals, and outside laboratory orders.
• Serve as a liaison between BIDMC Boston and BID Needham providers.
• Coordinate referrals with VNA, hospice, and other care partners.
• Assist with scheduling, patient assessments, and data collection.
• Participate in rounds, conferences, and quality initiatives.
