Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Oncology Nurse Clinician in Illinois to coordinate multidisciplinary care using the nursing process and to work in a collaborative environment with physicians, nurses, and staff.

The role requires completion of an accredited RN program with IL license and BLS certification, with preference for BSN and Oncology Certified Nurse. The position emphasizes patient safety, education, and transitions of care in a dynamic oncology setting.

Qualificações

• RN license in Illinois (accredited program completed).
• BLS certification required.
• Current nursing experience within the past 5 years.

Responsabilidades

• Assess and reassess patient and family care needs; initiate timely referrals.
• Collect and analyze data for new patients; triage and schedule appointments.
• Collaborate with clinicians and staff to coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Serve as resource to non-clinical staff on program information.
• Explain clinical decisions with rationale based on critical thinking.
• Ensure patient safety; reduce medical errors in care delivery.
• Assess learning needs and refer as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, process, therapies, and tests.
• Assist with transitions of care and provider communication.
• Communicate effectively with team; respect other disciplines.
• Delegate appropriately to meet patient needs promptly.
• Promote a positive work environment.

Conhecimentos
