Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Oncology Nurse Clinician PNE in Illinois to coordinate multidisciplinary care for oncology patients and educate patients and families about diagnosis, therapies, and testing. The role emphasizes collaboration across care teams, transitions of care, and ongoing professional development.

This position requires RN licensure in Illinois, recent nursing experience, and BLS certification, with preferred BSN and Oncology Certified Nurse credentials.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse program with an RN License in the state of Illinois.
• Current nursing experience within the past 5 years.
• BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and reassesses the patient and family for ongoing care needs and initiates referrals.
• Coordinates multidisciplinary care and appointments for new patients.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff to create and communicate a plan of care.
• Serves as a resource to non-clinical staff regarding prospective patients and information.
• Performs in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces errors.
• Educates patient, family and caregivers regarding diagnosis, process, therapies, and testing.
• Assists with transitions of care and providers.
• Delegates appropriately to other care providers to meet patient needs in a timely manner.
• Promotes a positive work environment.
