Job summary

CHI St. Vincent is seeking an Oncology Medical Nurse to support patients during challenging times, providing chemotherapy administration and comprehensive care.

Training for chemo/biotherapy is available, with emphasis on building trust with patients and families and collaborating with the surgical and nursing teams. You're expected to assist with discharge planning, care planning, and coordination of patient needs, while embracing a supportive role within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Unencumbered RN license to practice in Arkansas.
• 6 months of acute care experience required (new grads or residents OK).
• Oncology/chemo experience preferred but not required.
• BLS through the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy to patients (training/certification offered).
• Create, plan, and implement patient care plans and adjust as needed.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs for patients.
• Admit, treat, and discharge medical patients.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Oncology Medical Nurse at CHI St Vincent, you'll help our patients during a very difficult time in their life. For patients who have cancer or the potential threat, their oncology nurse will be one of the most important people in their journey. They're with them during one of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their life. They also treat patients with medical needs who don't require surgery. Our talented Oncology Medical RN's have two solid traits: knowledge and passion.

You'll build trust with patients and families by anticipating patient needs, observing them closely, and listening carefully. Your success in this role comes from working well with the surgical and nursing team to communicate details while paying close attention to the emotional and informational needs of the patient. You do not need previous experience in an orthopedic unit to be successful in this role, but enthusiasm to help others is mandatory. We'll teach you everything you need to know, which makes this a perfect starting point to launch your nursing career.

• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy to patients (we can offer training/certification for this)
• Create, plan, and implement patient's care plan and adjust accordingly

We are offering a sign on bonus up to $25,000 to hires who meet the eligibility requirements. We also offer additional pay for participation in our clinical ladder as well as referral bonuses, excellent benefits, and relocation assistance.

Job Requirements

• Unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the State of Arkansas
• 6 months of acute care experience is required (new graduates or nurses who have never worked in an acute care setting are hired through our residency training program)
• Previous oncology/chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• BLS through the American Heart Association is required
