Job summary

Epic Care is seeking a Certified APP (NP or PA) to work full-time in our hematology/medical oncology service line. Oncology experience is preferred but training is available. Language skills in Spanish, Mandarin or Cantonese are preferred. Location: Contra Costa County Clinic Locations.

The role involves inpatient and outpatient care, patient exams, care plan creation, and collaboration with tumor boards. Requires CA NP/PA licensure, prescriptive authority, and DEA license.

Qualifications

• Oncology experience is preferred but not required.
• Must have an active NP and PA licensure in the state of California.
• Must have prescriptive authorization, active DEA license.
• Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese or other language is preferred.
• Must be proficient with medical instruments and equipment.
• Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as electronic medical records.
• Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.
• Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Provide hematology & medical oncology specialty patient care in inpatient and outpatient care settings.
• Perform physical exams and patient observations.
• Record patient medical histories and symptoms.
• Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
• Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose health issues.
• Detect changes in a patient’s health and change treatment plans as necessary.
• Administer medicines and treatments.
• Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
• Consult with healthcare professionals, participate in tumor boards.
• Train patients and families on managing illnesses or injuries and disease prevention.
