Job summary

Mount Carmel is seeking a dedicated Multi-skilled Technician to support nursing staff on a full-time 12-hour night shift. The role involves basic patient care, phlebotomy, EKG testing, patient safety, and daily living assistance under RN supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, healthcare-related training, and BLS certification, with preferred phlebotomy/EKG coursework and prior patient care experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills.
• Successful completion of an approved course(s) in phlebotomy and EKG preferred.
• Successful completion and maintenance of BLS healthcare provider training required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans to prevent workplace injury or adverse outcomes.
• Provides nursing care and maintains patient safety and quality initiatives under RN supervision.
• Performs basic patient care activities including EKGs, Phlebotomy, blood glucose checks, and intake/output recording.
• Assists patients with daily living activities including bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff and observes changes in patients.
• Keeps patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
